At Lakepoint we are unashamedly and unabashedly all about Jesus! We believe that Jesus is God and that he desperately and completely wants us to know him. We would put it a lot like this:
GOD is FOR US
We believe God is for us. He always has been since He created the world. God wants the best for you. Why? Because God is like a good father who loves his kids. That’s why He gave us the Bible to tell us how to have a full, meaningful life as part of our relationship with Him.
GOD is WITH US
More than just being for us, God promises to walk through life with us. He didn’t wind up the world and leave it to run its course. He is actively involved in everyday life; willing to help us, encourage us, correct us and guide us.
GOD became ONE OF US
Best of all, God became one of us through His son Jesus. Jesus stepped down from the throne of heaven to become a human being. We believe the primary purpose for Jesus to come to earth was to rescue people from the problem of sin. This involved Jesus dying on a cross, paying the penalty we owe for our sin, so that we can receive God’s forgiveness and freedom.
GOD wants to live IN US
Finally, God wants to be an active part of our everyday life. How does this happen? We need to allow God to change us from the inside out, to make us into the kind of people He wants us to be. We simply have to admit that we are sinful and separated from God, place our faith in Jesus who died in our place and ask God to begin working on us. Once God is in you, rest assured He will never leave and your life will never be the same (in a good way).
If you’ve never made a decision to follow Jesus and allow him to be active in your everyday life, there’s no reason to wait! We believe it’s as simple as “A-B-C.”
- Acknowledge that you’re human and that we all fall short! The first step is realizing that we need God and that in some ways we’ve missed the mark.
- Believe in Jesus Christ: that he is God, that he is real, that he died for us, and that he is alive again!
- Confess him out loud as the Savior of your life and the hope of your heart.
