LP Creative Team
We are so glad that you’re interested in music at Lakepoint! Our hope is that you experience the love of Jesus as you audition, onboard and serve as a vocalist or instrumentalist. Our Creative team takes excellence seriously because we believe that music/production can be a pathway to connections with our Creator, while at the same time, music can also be a distraction to connecting with God.
As you practice for your audition, please take the time to internalize the songs and know your part. If you’re an instrumentalist, we strongly prefer that you memorize the chord patterns and play without music. If you’re a vocalist, we strongly prefer that you know the song well enough to occasionally glance at the words rather than stare at them. We also strongly prefer for our vocalists to be able to sing both lead and harmony if that is something that you bring to the table. We also understand that everyone is at difference skill levels. So, if you get nervous and need your chord charts or if you need to look at the words a lot, we will have lots of grace!
Our leadership team has a philosophy of inclusion AND excellence, meaning that however well (or not so well) you execute your audition, we want to help you grow as a musician and as a disciple of Jesus. So, all we ask is that you bring your very best and to be honest about where you are spiritually. Our leaders will do their best to help you take your next steps musically and spiritually.

Instrumentalists
Playing music with others can be a ton of fun, and our instrumentalists LOVE making music together! But we also believe that we can worship God with the way that we prepare and execute a song. As you prepare for your audition, pray for God to open your spiritual eyes to worship Him while you prepare the music.

Female Vocals
The Creative Team at Lakepoint will push you to bring more than just your beautiful voice to a stage. This team deeply believes that the women at Lakepoint are leaders, preachers and teachers. So, when you step on stage, you do so as a minister of the gospel (good news) of Jesus, not just a singer. As you prepare for your audition, take a moment to consider where Jesus has brought you and where he is taking you spiritually. Let that come through as you share Jesus’ gospel through singing.

What do you think of when you think of singing on stage? Nailing a powerful high note? Singing a perfect harmony? At Lakepoint, our men love those things, but we know that we bring so much more to the table! If you take the stage at Lakepoint, you become a vehicle for the gospel (good news) of Jesus as well as someone that younger boys look to for how to be a musical gentleman. We sing with confidence and power, but we also lead worship with humility and grace. As you prepare for your audition, invite the Holy Spirit to show you the path to confidence, power, humility and grace.

As we seek to honor God, we (our Creative Team Leaders) want to get to know you, where you’ve been and where you hope to go. We want to help you grow as a musician and as a Disciple of Jesus. So, after your audition, we will pair with you with someone who’s been a part of our team for a while. This person can answer your questions, challenge you musically and share their spiritual journey with you. This form gets the conversation started.
