This page is Lakepoint’s one-stop-shop for collecting helpers to serve during the Covid-19 crisis, and will be updated regularly. You don’t need to be a part of our church to get help, serve the need, or love like Jesus!
Food Drive for 135,000
Thanks for contributing to our May food drive. With your help, combined with twelve other Mobilize MKE churches, we stocked enough food in local food pantries to feed 135,000 people!
Mask Project
World Wide Hunger Relief, who Lakepoint partners with for our annual Muskego Feeds meal-packing event, is partnering with a mask-making project! It’s a big undertaking: healthy households commit to 20 hours of home-assembly to complete kits of 700 masks. These masks use N95 material, even though they aren’t N95 certified because they’re homemade. In other words – they won’t be used in hospitals, but they are way better than cloth masks everywhere else! Completed masks are being used to fill orders in Wisconsin such as police departments, street outreaches, homeless shelters, nursing homes and other medical professionals – even the Medical College of Wisconsin. There is no cost to you for this project. Check out this video for what the assembly process looks like or learn more. Lakepoint Church is a pick-up site Monday and Thursday, 10-Noon, or by special appointment.
Operation “Stock the Lakepoint Freezer”
We are looking for people to provide meals that can be frozen now and delivered later to families in need. Those on the front lines of medical fields, or those who have lost jobs, single parents who are balancing kids/work, or those who get sick or quarantined – a lot of people are about to need a lot of encouragement.
Drop off your favorite freezable meal or restaurant gift card at Lakepoint Church, Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, 9-3. Delivering in a ziplock bag or disposable pan is a must. Think about a meal kids & parents would eat. There are a bunch of bulk cooking plans online. Click here for an example.
